Do You Know What It's Like?

by My Obsεssion   Feb 21, 2004

Do you know what it’s like,
to have all the love in the world,
to have no one willing to accept?

Do you know what it’s like,
to love someone so much,
to not get love back?

Do you know what it’s like,
to see him with another,
to see him with her?

Do you know what it’s like,
to have your heart broken so many times,
to fix and fix to only need mending again?

Do you know what it’s like,
to be lonely,
to feel as if no one’s there?

Do you know what it’s like,
to feel ugly,
to feel as if no one cares?

Do you know what it’s like,
to be different,
to stick out from the crowd?

Do you know what it’s like,
to be perfect,
to not have one problem?

I sure don’t.

Very interesting. This is one of those types of poems that anyone who has been in a relationship will associate with at least one of the verses. I was able to connect on almost all of them. Additionally appealing about your poem is how each verse asks a question so that the reader can attach their experiences toward the poem.
