What's the Point?

by My Obsεssion   Feb 21, 2004

What’s the point of trying to love?
to pursue the unpursuable.
I love and hope to get love back,
but that’s just never how it works.

It’s easy for me to love,
but impossible for me to get love back, so. . .
why should I try to make myself desirable?
when all I end up being is undesirable.

What’s the point of trying to make myself something I’m not?
to do what it takes to fit in.
I try my hardest to make it work,
but that just never seems to happen.

It’s easy for others to do it,
but impossible for me, so. . .
why should I try to make myself fit in?
when all I do is make myself the oddball.

What’s the point of trying to look beautiful?
to look the way I want to.
I spend hours on making myself better,
but it never seems to help.

It’s easy for most,
but always seems to avoid me, so. . .
why should I try to make myself beautiful?
when all I end up looking is ugly?

What’s the point of trying to live?
to make the best of my life.
I try to give myself reason to smile,
but I always end up frowning.

It’s easy for almost everyone,
but difficult for me, so. . .
why should I try to make my life happy?
when all it ends up is being depressed.
