You Always Asked Why

by LadyPearl   Jun 12, 2006

Everytime I start to cry
You always ask me why
You never understand
That's why I don't reply

When you see my red scars
You tell people what you saw
Family, friends, even strangers now
Keep their distances far

Your life seemed so grand
While joy slipped through my hand
Your mind always in peace
While mine still to mend

Leave me alone, don't ask why
Let me release my painful cry
My past was torn, my future vain
The clock ticks, I wait to die

You can keep on asking me
The answer is so clear to see
That I'm a broken angel
Living off my misery

I loved the contrast, is that the word, in your third stanza and how your words were not forced. Your poems always have the effect that they had been worked on with a lot of though. Though your fourth stanza I didn't much care for as your poems always seem above those type of things. Your final stanza was sad very much.
