A Promise....

by Crystal   Jun 12, 2006

And into my hand I hold it tight,
A forever binding promise I am meant to preserve.
The temptation builds,
My blood arises and pours out of my veins.
The sweet feeling of being complete soon passes by.
I must not let it get that far!
My promise must over ride anything I have ever said.
I cannot contradict the longing to no longer be
But this longing must take place another way,
The way it is meant to be.

And the blade that I hold ever so tight,
Must not be allowed to win on this very night.
We may fight and write a new story
But if it comes to the point of goodbye,
My words will no longer be right.

Even though I promise this wont be the way,
Hopefully on my very eventful day,
The one where I shine,
Where I cause sadness and grief you will gaze upon my wrists
And see nothing but faded scars.

A promise I am destined to keep,
Words that have a meaning,
A wrist that has to no longer suffer the pain,
Stories that are told instead of written.
