Reality Bent

by Lauren Waszkiewicz   Jun 12, 2006

I Look at her sullen face,
I see the tears she's cried.
How could this have happened,
How could you have died???

Dark circles outline her tired eyes,
and mascara stained across her cheeks.
She holds onto the wall for support.
She can't even stand, she's so weak.

She denies the fact that you are gone.
She believes that this isn't true.
How could such an innocent ride,
go so tragically askew?

Why did you have to leave her?
Why did you have to go?
She can't live without you here-
the sad realization we all know.

She needs you to be with her,
She needs your loving embrace.
But she will never again,
See your caring face.

She needs the pain to be over,
She wants it all to end.
She needs to be back in your arms,
She wants reality to bend.

Good poem. The rhymes worked well into the story of the poem, and the emotion is very present in all of the stanzas.

This is very sad. I only hope that your pain isn't that immense..
The description of the girl in this poem, even though I haven't really experienced something like this, this is what I would imagine it to be like. Heh, but I guess dreams can't always be compared to reality...
I especially liked the last stanza. Very nicely done!

Hope everything is well. Take Care,
