Lord of the Flies

Why, why were they on that plane?
Why were they the lucky chosen ones?
Parents wanted them away from a corrupt society,
Their babies, their teens, their Little-uns

Leaving a scar, on a Paradise Island
The boys were trapped with ocean all around,
The only form of democracy and order,
Was the conch with its unusual sound.

Savagery showed in the one that wanted to hunt
Civilization showed in the intelligent one
Then there was the boy caught in the middle
He wanted fire, shelter, and for everything to get done

The shelters didn't get finished properly,
The hunters and the little-uns didn't care.
The fire was started with the specs of the boy,
Who nobody wanted to treat fair.

Savagery starts to take over the boys
As there civilization starts to decay
Jack and Roger's aggression greatly shows and
Jack hides behind a face covered in clay.

Ralph seems the only one who wants to get saved
Because all the hunters wanted to do was kill
They had lost a chance at being rescued
Because the fire went out on top of the hill

Then there was the kid who talked about the beast
Piggy said it couldn't exist in scientific history
Jack the savage one didn't believe it was there
To the boys it became an unsolved mystery.

They went from swimming happily in the water
To hunting, torturing, and killing animals and friends
They sadly lost all their innocence
Like a destroyed society intends.

The fighter plane being shot down
And the dead man falling from the sky to the ground
Symbolize the war going on in the real world
And intensifies the boy's fears when the beast is what they think they found.

Simon becomes known as very positive
When he is reassuring the boys that they will be saved
Ralph's savage side shows when he takes part in the pig hunt
His innocence was lost he had finally caved.

The Lord of the flies was the pigs head on the stick
The conversation that Simon communicated to it about
Told us that the beast was in fact fear within the boys
And sadly foreshadowed Simons end with great doubt

Ralph knows Simon's death was not a mistake
And soon enough all the boys are on Jacks side
Sam n Eric are kidnapped, Piggy is killed
Now Ralph has to find a place to hide.

Running from the savages, Ralphs trying to escape
The forest is soon set on fire
A boat off in the distance notices the flames
Ralph finds the soldier and at his feet is where he tires.

So the boys had left to get away from a corrupt society
There parents wanted them safe and alone
But they could not escape the terrible corruption
For they were able to create it on there own.

  • Wow. You just like described the entire story. Lol. I hated that book, it was horrible! I don't really know what to say about the poem though. It was good, it flowed well, and had good descriptions. Nicely done! 5/5

Omg this is great..you seem to hit all the plot points very accuratly. However, the Lord of the Flies and The Beast are the same thing. You see the Pigs Head on the stick was the proof of their savageness, for they were sacrificing the head to this "god" like creature. The Beast was simply this inner savage-ness. {fast fact:Lord of the Flies is Hebrew translated for God}Simon saw the "Beast" in the head who was telling Simon that he was to have fun, which was the childish thing to do.

The poem is great, and you analyze the book very well, as someone who hasn't read it would be very amazed, but since I have read it and done extensive analyzation I can find the trivial errors. -laughs-
