A poem for The One

What can I say
that hasn't been said already?
everyone knows what you mean to me
how much i look forward to our wedding

how can I express in words
this feeling inside of me
it's like being on fire
burning for a new beginning

when i'm in your arms
i know that where I belong
i wonder of those in my past
you right, them oh-so wrong

it's crazy to think of forever
but i know he can make it there
because of our love
and our special type of care

basically we fit the puzzle
you were the missing piece
discovering you so soon
was something i expected least

but you were there in my darkest hour
my knight in shining armor true
then it was clear to me
i was frighteningly in love with you

letting down my guard was
perhaps the most difficult of all
i had trusted so many
who had allowed me to trip and fall

no one has understood me like you
you make this forever an easy one
out of all of this i hope you see
you are my only one

the first time we made love
i waited to get home to cry
you gave me everything i could ask for
your tenderness i couldn't deny

to this day you give your all
to keep me happy and cared for
all of my life this love you have given
wasn't something i was prepared for
