Three Years

by Just Sierra   Jun 13, 2006

Wasted pages for your promises
My heart won't break again.
Three years from now I'll take my chance
But I'll have to wait for then.

Because I'm crying here on New Years Eve
Ready to do this every day.
I've risked it all too easily
To have it thrown so far away.

I never meant to say I love you
Because those words keep me awake.
Three years from now, I'll take my chance
But I won't let my heart break.

I know it may be easy for you
To hold no attachment to what you said.
But it's not you whose sitting here,
With empty promises in your head.

And someday when I won't need you
I'll prove that I'll be fine.
I'll wound you into silent fear
Because you're not worth my time.

But until that day three years from now
I'll spend each day with loving tears,
Remembering you promised me something
That I'll hold onto for three years.

--If you know me..then you should know who this is about. And I'm sorry if the whole New Years Eve thing confuses you. I wrote it on New Years Eve lol--
