Test of Pain and Fate

by LadyPearl   Jun 13, 2006

Borne from a kin of raging fire
The birth of the dark night fighters
Created for Earth's final destruction
The last of this world's holy guiders

Yet, their hearts were not of hate
They were of hope and understanding
Not wanting to murder an ocean of souls
They hoped for another way of healing

Soon, a fuming heart roamed within it's relms
A unlikely traitor soon to be found
Exposed to the world unlike others
It was time to bring the whole world down

In an act of coldness, he slaughtered his friends
Burning the village where he once trained
Bodies flooded the hidden village trails
In his heart he shook away what pained

But one young girl escaped from hell
Carried and hidden by her ancient master
Unknown to his wandering eyes
She trained and learned with her mourning master

She was then hidden with a new family
Her memories soon began to fail
Only shadows of fires lingered on
And an old man's disturbing tales

One day cloaked strangers appeared in school
Demanding for her to reveal her face
In surprising strength, she stepped forward
walking in a smooth, tough pace

"Join me" he said, to end this world
Pity no more for brainless fools
Or have you forgotton who you are
Buried in this...ignorant school

Soon memories flowed back to her mind
Hate, rage, and blood swelled inside
How dare you show yourself among us
What secrets do you dare still hide

He grinned and asked her once again
Will you join me, my dear old friend
Though she did not know who he was
Her morals and rights, she'll still defend

I will not kill like you have done so
I am not that low compared to you
She threw a kick and a punch his way
Ah, but that wasn't the right thing to do

She may have been good, but he, better
He taunted about the way her family died
How they gazed upon in fear and surprise
How they didn't fight or even try

With her final rage she grabbed his brooch
His face revealed as he watched her closely
In shock she backs away, confused and dazed
A silver glint flies into her painfully

It was short , but still a sharp knife
She bit her lips as she stared into him
Don't worry, he said, it shouldn't kill you
Her body groaned and voices grew dim

You said yourself, this world is beyond help
Boys, girls, rapes, gossip, jealousy, and lies
You said so yourself, so why not join me now
This is the time for the world to die...

This is a really unique poem, I like the story behind it. "Not wanting to murder an ocean of souls:Not wanting to murder an ocean of souls" I enjoyed that line in particular. I jave a few suggestions:
In the fifth stanza you rhymed master with master, perhaps a different word for one of them?
"Boys, girls, rapes, gossip, jealousy, and lies" this line seemed to take away from the depth of the rest of the poem, make it more childish?? (that's not really the word I'm looking for but I can't think of the other one LOL) It's like we were in this dark mystical place with a dark story and then that line kind of doesn't fit. Only a suggestion though.

I really enjoyed this poem and I can't wait to see the continuation ^_^ Wonderful write my friend!
