A Thunderstorm

by Katie B.   Jun 13, 2006

As I sit alone, inside
I hear a noise outside its thunder
I smile and walk out onto my porch
I close my eyes

I Listen for
The Birds chirping
The thunder
The sound is thrilling
Leaves russling
The ping ping ping of water on a bucket

I feel the rain
On my skin
Feet and Arms
The wind on my face
Blowing my hair

I open my eyes I see
The lighting flicker in the sky
Im excited
The water dripping from the railing
It is chaos

It is so beautiful
I am in my happy place
In an instant the rain stops
The sun shines
Everything glistens

I go back inside
Back to the busy cycle
