The sorceress glided down
Her marvelous stone hallway
Listening to the trivial echoes
Of her shoes against the polished granite
It was cold inside the castle corridor
And she drew her cloak ever closer
Staring at the her many paintings
As well as the impressive golden mirrors
The passageway was most elegantly decorated
With rich oriental rugs in deep crimson
And curtains of midnight blue
Made from the finest silk
Superbly detailed and pleasing to the eye
But yet it was so empty, so unfeeling
And the woman gliding through it
Was more of a bejeweled ghost than a human being
Suddenly, this phantom of a sorceress felt quite lonely
So solitary in her rambling castle
And though she had many servants and was never alone
The feeling of isolation forever lingered in her heart
The shadowy lady drifted by a looking glass
She saw her compelling green eyes lined with Kohl
Her graceful swanâ??s neck framed by her cape
A silver circulate rested atop her sleek tresses of auburn hair
Her skin was incredibly pale and made her luminous in the dark room
And the womanâ??s slender lips were a smoldering red
The graceful black cape made her a tremendous figurine
Outshining the grandeur of the imposing mirror itself
Never before had she really paused to gaze at herself
She had been so engaged with practicing her magic
So occupied with taking over the various small kingdoms
And organizing her entire domain
But she had not intended on becoming an empress
Never in her wildest dreams did she imagine that it would happen
That she would gain such cosmic power
Her first pursuit had been one of peace
She had wanted to unite the many villages
In hopes that they could fight the deceitful king
Using her magic solely for good she had gained the peopleâ??s trust
And had started a revolution to relieve the king of his throne
But soon she caught sight of how much authority she could have
The appetite for this supremacy taking hold of her like the plague
No longer did being a leader of the people suit her
So she took her chance and became the almighty sorceress
With her new-found control she established an army
Casting spells over them so that her will became their own
Without the ability to disobey the soldiers marched and seized all
Killing their own kin and anyway else who got in their way
Standing atop her pretentious castle she felt the dark magic throb in her veins
Growing from the pain of men whoâ??d been forced to build her numerous establishments
With a wicked grin set on her face she observed her immense holdings
Triumphantly she cackled to the fierce winds with green eyes overflowing with evil
Feeling it was her right she would parade through her empire in exquisite robes
Exhibiting herself through the streets she demanded the peasants bow down to her
Once a single child had dared speak to her muttering, â??Evil sorceress!â??
Smiling malevolently, she replied, â??Perhaps I amâ?? and proceeded through the alleyway
Now, secluded in this chilly hallway starring at her ghostly image
She saw how truly cruel she had become in her thirst for power
And she whispered to herself, so softly she could scarce hear her own words, â??Perhaps I amâ?¦â??.
