Letting Go

by Jasmyn   Jun 14, 2006

A girl not yet 25
stands on a bridge preparing to fall to her death
she's never had much
lived with what she could
but now has nothing left
no home to go to
no friends to which she turns
no happiness to find within herself
no solution for the things she yearns
tears fall from a face
too old for someone so young
tension evident even in her weakened state
nerves high strung
clutching to the rusted metal
preparing to take her last step
but deep down praying
someone would intercept
she doesn't really want to die
but doesn't want to live anymore
shes tired of fighting only to lose
she has nothing left to live for
Alone in this world
she stares down below
leans over the edge
and lets go...
