My Dear Friend

by KelseyRenee91   Jun 14, 2006

My dear friend I'll miss you so,
Why, oh why do you have to go?
Can't you see what's becoming of me?
A lonely fish in the open sea.

Do you realize that this isn't the end?
I want to be forever your friend.
As I take your hand in mine
A tear comes to settle in the sands of time.

Six hundred miles of separation
Causes much unseen desperation.
A letter and sometimes a random phone call
Is strong enough to break through the wall.

My dear friend I miss you so,
Why, oh why did you have to go?
I'll try to go on, I'll try to survive
But deep down inside, I'm going to die.

You mean so much to me, my friend,
I truly believe that this is the end.
But in my heart I firmly consider
That life does go on, no matter how bitter.

Without you here I'm dying inside
You can't imagine the tears I've cried.
I love you, my friend, I'll never let go
And carry your memory where ever I may go.

My best friend, I love you so,
But I'll never understand why you had to go.
