Choose Me

by Denise Butler   Jun 14, 2006

When will it be my turn?
Just to feel a bit complete
My heart is tired of yearning
For the one just out of my reach
A thousand words couldn`t begin to describe
Memories that are so hard to let go
The feelings that build me up inside
Your words that will lead me to follow
Could you possibly know in your mind?
The way you sing my name so slow
That it was you I was hoping to find
When love deserted me so long ago
Igniting my soul with your words within
Passion now fills my lonely nights
Loving you could never be a sin
I can see you with eyes closed tight
Please choose to live your life today
But without doubt or hesitation
I will be here at the end of every day
Waiting for you with loving adoration.

"The way you sing my name so slow"

This line spoke volumes to me.
The poem as a whole is absolutely breathtaking. You have written it with such astounding passion....
Sadly, this poem conveys that which many (including myself) can whole heartedly relate to.
Take care and keep it up~Holly
