You've spoken the truth and conveyed it quite brilliantly.
You have made many good points as to how civilization hasn't moved forward but as you put it they've moved backward.

I agree with Holly. I have major respect for you, in how you can speak out on a topic that is such a sensitive issue to a lot of people. In my opinion, this should only offend the people who are guilty of these things, and for that there should be no apology from you, but from them. Sometimes we need to hear the truth but some people are just too chicken to stand up for it, to speak it, or people just don't want to hear it. Using Martin Luther King as an example seems to really grab the reader's attention and hold it, for he was such a brilliant man in history with tremendous respect from a lot of people, and you are a brilliant writer. Great Poem.

It really is a shame about the state of things. Everyone needs heros, but when the heros pass and are forgotten, that's probably one of the saddest things to watch happen.

The rhyme scheme blended well into the poem, and didn't disrupt the message.
