The River

by underated15   Jun 15, 2006

She walks into the river
Her face pale
The hairs on the back of her neck rise
Her face tear laden
She looks down
Into the shallow hell that awaits her
She plunges in
And swallows the cold water
It goes down
Down
To the back of her throat
She gasps for light
But all goes black
And she goes
She never to see light again
She swims in her own blood
She is gone
Gone
Nobody will miss her

Ok, well this is more of a story than a poem. The structure is not all there, and the flow needs some work. Short and needs to be a bit longer I think, although there are many poems that are short and still good. Keep up the hard work and don't give up.
