Last Night

Last night I talked to you.
We talked about the future and how we wanted it to be.
Every time we said something else we were both included in each other's thoughts.
Our love for each other brought us together and made our hearts form one.

You said something that really got to me.
And it hurt me deep down inside.
The dreams I once had of you turned to dark and suicidal.
You never knew until last night.

You asked why I love you and what I want you to be in my life.
I was really quiet for about 5 minutes thinking about how to respond and answer the question.
You said my name and brought me back only to ask again.

I said, "I want you in so many ways that I can't explain all of them. You're my everything and I want to grow old with you by my side. I want you to be the father to my kids and the one I run to when times get hard. I want you to hold me when my mom dies and when my best friend leaves to go live on her own. I want you to be the one that comforts me early in the morning after I just had a bad dream. I want you to be the one that's there for me no matter what and can tell when I just need someone to hold me close. I want you to be the one I marry and I want you to be the one that helps name our kids. I want you to be my sun that shines so bright in the day time. And I want you to be the moon that brightens up the night. I want you to be my shoulder I cry on when something bad happens. I want you to be mine because you're the only one that I truly think about day in and day out. You're my heart and my soul. You're the only that keeps me living and the only reason I'm still here today. I love you more than anything and without you I would be six feet under with no one beside me."

You slowly said I love you too and I'm lost for words.
Last night I hope you realized how much you really mean to me.
Because without you, I truly wouldn't be here.
Last night and every day you make my dreams come true.
