3 Problems With The World Today

3 Problems With The World Today

You heard the phrase, 3 wishes
What about 3 problems?
Don't tell me you know what this is
Don't say that I'm just a pessimist

#1, people dying from things we "thought" were innocent
Accidents, traumas, galore
Think you can hide the truth that easily?
Think everyone will give up and hit the floor?

Babies in their mommies
Hear those words, "I'm too poor, I'm too young..."
Is that a reason to kill them,
Even when they did nothing wrong?

Government raking in millions
Of little souls today
A growing industry by the billions
Wish someone would have a say

Be it with salt, a scooper, a tube
Murder is going on in the hospital you go to
A human is one that can feel, live and breathe
Babies are human too, can't you see?

Children, parents, and (young) adults
Tangled in this web
#2, introducing child abuse
One of the most ignored issues ev'

You've heard the stories, seen the faces
"My Name Is Sarah", a very famous one
At least she ran away on two legs and made it
What if you had none?

Bruises, batters, dressed in rags and tatters
Red lips and eyes from crying
Sore skin, broken minds and souls
Can't even hear the telephone ring

Number 3, a crime committed to and by me
Being judged by how you appear
Be it the fashion, the music, the skin
The language, the actions, the shoes you're in

I've committed the crime and I know you have too
Judging someone by how they treat you
Badmouthing behind their back, maybe in your head
Wishing they would dig a hole and pronounce themselves dead

~*~ It's a crime we all commit
These, in my opinion, are victimizing sins
Ones that shouldn't be forgiven but are
Because, as human, our mercy hits its mark ~*~

You can never change the past, but the past can change you
In stranger ways than you ever knew
Do not be afraid, just say sorry for what you did
From judging a person, to hurting a kid

Pray they will forgive you, shower them with love
For the people of today
Still are from heaven above
