Taking Over Me

Taking Over Me

I close my eyes and sing a song
One from long before I was born
Where it came from, I don't know
But in that world, singing breached the rules

Diaphragm splitting, someone else controls the keys
Don't you know? Someone's here besides me
They leave my mind and come back again
Sometimes I wonder if I'll ever win

The mirror sports someone who looks like me
But someone else's face
A silenced, distant scream
Nothing feels the same

Open the chained doors
Let the light hit my skin
I'm living in temporary insanity
Someone else is living in... me

There's this other voice
Someone else's mind
And it's slowly taking over me
(Like a disease)

One of my FAVORITE Evanescence songs, and you did the title justice. LOL.

Did you write this for Alanah"s contest, of just on your own.

    Anywho, it was REALLY good.
