The \'Perfect\' Girl

by burning666   Jun 16, 2006

As the tears well up
In her bright blue eyes,
The blade comes out,
To stop all the lies.

She tells her wrist
Of the pain she feels,
She uses the blade
To silently explain.

She tells a story.
Of the perfect girl,
With a perfect family,
In a perfect house.

She tells of how blind
This young girl was,
How she couldn't see
The obvious reality.

How she blocked out the fights,
And the tears and the screams,
She thought 'It must be
Better than it seems.'

But when her father left
It all fell apart,
For this perfect girl
Had a broken heart.

With no-one to catch her
And no-one to care,
This girl turned to one
Who was always there.

Who ever lied
Straight to her face,
Who never told her
She was a disgrace.

Who would never leave her
While pretending to care
Who would never leave her
With no marks to bare.

It would never leave
Her for another,
It would never ever
Cheat on her mother.

The tears stop,
And I put the blade away,
I start getting ready for
Another endless day.
