Empty

by StormyWeather   Jun 16, 2006

An empty seat in an empty classroom
A half full book thats stained by tears
An empty face at the pep rally
One oblivious to cheers
An empty seat saved in the cafe
A girl cries in the bathroom stall
Crossing out all those crude markings
That are written on the wall
For they say Best Friends forever
But forever isnt long
As you hear the people crying
And they play the funeral song
Theres a chair there by the window
Hasnt been moved since that day
Now theyre left with empty people
Who have lost the will to pray
They have lost the hope of loving
They have lost the need to breathe
And yet they keep on going
She had told them not to grieve
Its a pain which I cant tell of
Its an incurable ache
Of an sad and empty soul
Of a heart about to break
And a heart thats way past breaking
And a tear thats left unshed
For the sad and empty people
And for the girl now dead
But that spark is still in their eyes
And that spark is lit by hate
Its a spark of proud defiance
For her death was no mistake
So this song is for the driver
With the beer can in his grip
Who took our best friend from us
Cos his concentration slipped

** Dont ask where my inpsiration for this came from, but listen to the song Empty Chairs at Empty Tables and you might begin to understand a little more about the strange rhythm...
