Getting Rid of You

by alex   Jun 16, 2006

Floating, drowning, lost at sea
Hoping, wishing, youll come save me
Clinging desperately to your memory
I know youre not coming for me

Flying, soaring, oh so very high
Remembering all your stories and all of your lies
Thinking of your exit, your parting, your goodbye
Reminiscing my love for you trying not to cry

Digging, burrowing, looking for cover
Shoveling away the remains of a lover
Burying your promise of forever
Watching, searching for another

Running, fleeing away from the scene
Dancing in the rain to come out clean
Forgetting the one who could be so mean
Becoming ready to finally be seen

Washing away the person Ive been
Getting rid of you, the perfect sin
Putting on my bathing suit before I jump in
Done with my beginning, and running past the end
