Kidnap Poem

This poem was something I had to do for my English class. It is based on Kidnap Poem by Nikki Giovanni.

Ever been kidnapped
By an angel
If I were an angel
I'd kidnap you

Swoon you with my singing
Wrap you in my wings
Halo you with sunshine
And fly you 'round with me

Paint a picture with the heavens
Show you the pearly gates
Bring you back down here to earth
Where your future eagerly awaits

I'll guard you with my loving arms
And bless you from head to toe
I'll adore you even more each day
Than you will ever know

One day when we meet again
Maybe you will see
That when we met way back when
How much you meant to me
