Just a Lie

by Jemma   Jun 16, 2006

And I keep looking in the mirror
It's just an image, nothing of truth
Nothing but an illusion, it's a lie
There's no one but me, here alone

There's no one behind me
You smile, so delicate
But no one's there, nothing's there
Just imagination
Just an illusion
Just a lie

A hand on my shoulder
Such comforting warmth
Looking at the reflection
Looking at eyes that just cannot be there
And there's no one there, nothing's there
Just an illusion
Just a lie

I keep staring at what I know is nothing
I cannot fool myself when I know that I see everything
Staring at me from the locked memories of the mirror
Locking gazes with those that are not there

And when I turn I know that there's nothing to see
I know there's no one there
It's just imagination
Just an illusion
Just a lie
