A Hijab

by Golden 101   Jun 16, 2006

I believe, our beauty is
Just one simple part of us,
And this body that we have,
No stranger has the right to see.
With these long clothes,
And this shawl I wear,
I believe ensures
My Modesty.

You ask me,
What is that on your head?
And I think of saying to you,
That this scarf is my protection,
My devotion, my pureness,
My beauty,
My remembrance to God
And when I put it on,
I feel complete, I feel free.
But then I realize,
That you don t really care what will be said,
So I simply just say,
It's a scarf, called
A Hijab.

    Nice work!!!
I love your words, and the whole poem flows perfectly.
Many people don't realise that, they think our hijab is our jail, while we are intertally laughing of our liberty and their imprisonment.
