At war

There's a war inside my head,
I wonder who will win,
will it be God's handsome chariot or will it be my sin?
The truth is I don't know as yet, it could go either way,
So i suppose, just for the moment in conflict's where I'll stay.

Withdrawing from the world,
a trick that i know well,
cos when you've got these secrets theres no one you can tell.

soon becomes too much,
and all my soul is longing for is just that gentle touch.

so calming and familiar,
the feeling brings relief,
but no sooner has it happened than I'm overcome with grief.

My soul aches, for what I could have had,
the longing is too much,
once again my soul cries out, desperate for that gentle touch.

the war rages on, another battle to defend,
no wonder my poor heart, never seems to mend.

another final fight.
