The Feeling of Feelings

by Timothy   Jun 18, 2006

I was surprised to see you,
But there you were;
You stood next to my biological daughter,
Standing there, very unsure.

The girl you were,
Was replaced by the woman that you are;
And I wanted to speak to that little girl,
But, I was afraid the distance was too far.

As quick as my blood-daughter was to start talking,
I didn\'t think that was what you would do;
But you and she have always been different,
And I have always adored what makes you...you.

I said: \"I love you\", to both my daughters,
One said it back, and the other... thought it...I would guess;
Hugging you both, I watched you go,
And I forgave you...because for a fifteen-year-old, the feeling of feelings is so hard to express.
