Why is it so easy
To write about our pain
We talk of how we loved them
And how we take the blame

We say that we miss them
And they were wonderful
But somehow we forget
All the lonely nights and broken rules

We forget about the deceit
That made us walk away
We forgive all of the pain
They caused us yesterday

We somehow miss them
Despite the hurt that they induced
We talk of how they loved us
Even though we were abused

How can we love them now
When once we felt so trapped
How do we erase the bad memories
So much time has lapsed

It seems that time heals the wounds
And we wipe their slates so clean
We forgive and we forget
The lonliness and broken dreams

It was over then and it should be over now
We need to keep on walking
With our head up in the clouds

They are merely reminents of bad decisions
That we made long ago
Bite your tounge, hold your pride
And never let them know

Do not show your weakness
Because it will cause regret
Don't bring old feelings to the surface
From a love you should forget.

Accept that it is over
Love is not a chore
If love doesn't come easy
Show them to the door

If it is meant to be
You will feel it from the start
A separation is a clear sign
That it was over from the start.

Accept it and move on
Do not ever look to the past
Despite the apparent greener pastures
It was not meant to last
