Do Not Ever

by Tamsin   Jun 18, 2006

Do not cross the road without looking.
Do not take lollies from a stranger.
Do not ever play with matches.
Do not do anything that poses a danger.

Hammered into childrens heads,
Are small safety rules of life.
But we are never made to understand,
Those who use a knife.

Shunned are those, who do not fit in,
They only need some caring,
Forced to hide and cover up,
To stop the people staring.

Poor little children,
Brought up all wrong.
It always was their parents fault,
It has been all along.

Did not give her an outlet,
Did not seem to care.
Little did they realise,
She never shed a tear.

Not even when her father died,
Or when he was in the ground.
Inside she screamed and yelled and cried,
But never made a sound.

No one noticed the cutting had started,
She managed to hide it well.
Ever since her father parted,
She was depressed but knew no one to tell.

So she continued alone,
To the world she made herself cunning,
She kept her own big secret,
And her blood just kept on running.

On that unbearable, final day,
She took it much too far.
No one had bothered to help her,
There was never a shining star.

She had nothing to live for,
No faith nor strength or hope.
She had no friends left anymore,
Nobody to throw her a rope.

Silently she faded,
After slashing open her wrists.
She had ripped her arm apart,
While tightly clenching her fists.
