Christian Adventures

by Poetvoices   Jun 18, 2006

What is a Christian's life?
What can it be compared to?
I'll tell you, and to some,
it will make perfect sense.

Our lives are like a child's adventures
in his own neighborhood.
We go off and play with others
and choose the kind of people.

Do we do things we know are wrong,
or do we strive for the common good?
Busting out windows
or a friendly game of tag?

We know when it gets late,
we can expect to called home at any time,
but some moms do the unthinkable.
They call their children home early...

Finally, when we hear Mom,
we run through every yard on the way.
We can't wait for supper.
It'll be just like a feast for our hungry mouths.

Before we get through the door,
Mom's changing our clothes.
Afterward, she gives us the look,
and we know she already knows...

She rebukes us for every bad thing
we did while we were away,
but now we're home and clean,
and we spend the rest of our evening with Mommy.
