My New Apartment

by Elizabeth   Jun 18, 2006

And now i sit with this quill in my hand
The candlelight shuns the darkness' brand
the ink begins to spill on the parchment.
The story of how I got my apartment

It all began on a wintery day
the children in the park
the games they played
I walked and trotted through the white covered streets
The woman on the corner selling goats milk and cheese

And there I saw on the advertisment stand
Was a certain thing that caught my glance
An ad with an irressistible offer
"Apartment for rent, only 400 dollars!"

I quickly bought the ad and exclaimed with joy
Like a child who has recieved a new Christmas toy
It was the best offer to ever be had
and I ran home to tell my mom and dad

"Guess what, guess what?" i exclaimed with joy..and I told them the story with excitement in my voice.
"Thats good for you dear, very good news..how many utilities does it include?"
"It has everything i could ever need. Electricity, water..all for free!"

After telling my parents the good news
I went home and began to pack everything i could use.
My clothing, towels, dishes, and computer.
And the water and food bowl for my
puppy, Pooter.

The next morning, with the necessary papers
I visited the landlord, who gave the keys and waiver
And with a smile on his face, and a twinkle in his eye
He welcomed me to the apartments of "Terrace Sky"

It seems like only weeks ago
that I moved into my new humble abode.
But now the story ends, as I finish this document
About how I got my new apartment.
