Lies of Love

by Somber Esprit   Jun 18, 2006

My Baby, My Love, Where are you?
I thought I did everything right,
You told me you'd love me forever,
Yet another lies with you tonight.

I was there whenever you needed me,
I was always the first one to call,
You told me you'd love me forever,
So why did you let me fall?

My Baby, My Love, I miss you.
I guess I held on too tight,
You told me you'd love me forever,
So why did we have to fight?

This girl you left me to be with,
You claimed she was just a friend
You told me you'd love me forever,
And I believed you until the end

My Baby, My Love, do you think of me?
As she lies in your arms at night?
And you tell her you'll love her forever,
And she foolishly thinks you're right.

Before anything else, I'd like to express my sincerest gratitude for appreciating my art.

This one really speaks of "reality" and you have written it in undeniable truth. I believe I can relate with the thought of the poem.
    I like all the lines!!!!

I love the use of rhetorical questions it helps the reading question and reflect on your message. However i suggest writing the word you instead of 'U" in the third line of the third stanza. The low modality worked well with this poem. I also loved the effect the captitals had on the repetitive words; My Baby, My Love. The last line i think makes the poem; a slightly uncanny twist. well done
