Holding Me Back

Not being with you,
Really hurts me inside,
But I can't help these feelings,
And they just won't subside.

All I want is to be with you,
To get to know your life,
I want to know your hopes and dreams,
And even all your strife.

You were always there for me,
Even when I didn't realize it,
I wish I would've of seen it sooner,
Maybe it'd of changed things a bit.

It really upsets me though,
That I can't even just like you,
It has to come with all these problems,
And they're very hard to get through.

That one you once had,
Doesn't like this at all,
She's holding me back,
And having me not call.

She's the one who gave you up,
And it upsets me so much,
That she's still hanging on,
As if it wasn't such.

Sadly I don't think it even matters,
You would take her back too,
I feel like I don't have a chance,
Even after all that I do.
