Second Chance

by Kristina   Jun 19, 2006

Yeah I love you,
I really really do,
But I know you don't love me,
And I know you never will.

I don't know why,
We can't just talk this out.
Let go of all our bad memories,
And remember all the good ones.

Give me a second chance,
To prove to you how much,
I care for you,
Cause I love you so much.

I was so stupid to let you go,
I should have held on to you.
I'll never be with you again,
And this is all my fault.

I don't know why I'm trying so hard,
To get back together with you,
When it was my own mistake,
For you not being here with me.

I guess you just don't realize,
How much someone means to you,
Until they are gone from your life,
And never coming back to you.

I think that the first half of the poem is so standard that it should be revamped. Details are really what make love poems great, because they can both connect on a personal level but still remain unique to the poet. You need more details, descriptions, and poetic devices to make this poem really special.
