Lemmings: Suicide bombings

by Ben   Jun 19, 2006

For the sake of our gods
we passed through the night
Walking on wings
of falsified light.
The moon did not shine
and the stars did not wake
Alone on this trek
with naught but our fate.
With sweating of hands
and pounding of heart
We were forced down that path
to finish from start.
The wind whistled loudly
and mocked our last steps
As we stumbled all forward
towards the precipice.
The shadows cajoled us
and held us so tight
They\'d led us a dance
through the cold weary night.
My fellows around me
with eyes wide in fear
Mirrored my horror
as the end it drew near.
Inside we fought
and tried to prevail
But our feet all betrayed us
together we failed.
Our bodies refused
what our minds screamed and wailed
And almost as one
We stepped from the edge...
