My Mistake Not Over Looked.

by Sarah Ann   Jun 19, 2006

He looks at me, glances away
Expecting I have things to say
But now I'm gone, he is the past
A memory that didn't last

I see the pain inside his eyes
He's hurting from all of my lies
Unfaithful I was to his heart
One reason why we had to part

Tears fall and drip down my face
"I'm sorry," I say, in an embrace
But he pushes away, I understand
I have no rights to hold his hand

I pushed him out of my own door
Fed up, he wanted nothing more
I knew it then, I know it now
My feelings he must disavow

What happened I will never know
And parting was my fault and so
This burden is one I can't heave
In causing my true love to leave

Mistakes are rarely over looked
For me I've made myself a book
And each day I use it to remind
The damage done with passing time

And I see him almost everyday
Expecting he has things to say
But neither of us ever speak
Though inside were both incomplete
