Inspiration, Regret and Reaction

You are my inspiration
You gave thought to my soul
You had led me from temptation
Even though few know

Without you here for me at first
My writing would have ceased
But you helped me fill my thirst
You helped keep me pleased

You tried your best to make me smile
But in the end I ruined it all
I turned my back to truth for a while
And I pushed you so you'd fall

You had no clue I'd do that
For you thought us in love
And for hours I have sat
Asking those above

Why they let me do such things
And why you fell so fast
With hatred that daily rings
Of a recent past

I wrote just this to let you know
I'm sorry for my actions
That's my one regret to show
This is my pure reaction
