Please stop and just listen
I want to read words I have written
I don't know how else to talk to you
Everything I say just turns out blue
I have so much inside, I want to share
How do I let it all out? Would I even dare?
I've struggled over these words I speak
Even now my knees are weak
My stomach rumbles with butterflies
I want to sneak off somewhere and die
I love you, I hate you, I love you, is what I want to yell
I'm just so scared that you just say "farewell"
So instead of telling you how truely I feel
I write you this poem and hope to conceal
This love and pain that twirls inside
Thoughts of you, me, us in my mind
I write stupid words and write stupid rhymes
Anything to try and buy your time
Cheap acts and fake parlor tricks
I'll do anything for just a quick fix
Of your time, your heart your emotions
I'll even try love spells and potions
I don't know how else to get through to you
Please don't think me fake or cruel
I end this with a final thought
I love you for all it's worth
