Shadow chasing

by Melissa   Jun 20, 2006

Life is a mystery
dreams, an empty well
my wishes are only secrets
that I'll never reveal

Neon stars hold many truths,
but fiction licks the trusty air

And I'm trying to paint black and white memories
with crusted bristles of despair;
because all the people I believed in
died, ran, or just walked away
turning mere promises a lucent shade of gray
and even with time their shadows won't fade

Remembrance holds the inertia of loneliness,
but reality scolds with blood
and these lines broadcast a chaotic certainty
that my heart just cannot ignore

    Breath-taking in so many ways. This reminds me so much of my peice 'And Always I dream Alone'-the same sentiments, emotions, thoughts, it's uncanny.I know this feeling. You express this so well, every image is a feeling.Fantastically written and communicated. It cannot but touch the soul of any reader who has ever felt this, and we all have.
    Best to you,
