You were my best friend

by Sinead   Jun 20, 2006

My dear dear friend how close we were,
And how i wish you\'d stayed.
But grown away and far apart is why i am afraid.

Its when HE came to show, that everything went wrong.
You said that i was welcome, but i was just a tag along.

And then i started it too, but i just stayed the same,
You couldnt see how to play that juggling balancing game.

You didnt juggle the two acts,
So i just had to face the facts.
I was shoved aside all because,
He\'s more to you then i ever was.

He treats you oh so badly, but you cannot seem to see,
That the only one who realy cares always comes back to me.

I\'v always been your shoulder, for you to shed a tear,
But when your tears werent there, thats when i had my fear.

That i was left alone, for the scum you call a friend.
That friend that always hurts you, and would never lend,
A hand for you to hold,
Or hug you when your cold.

This friend does not know you, the way i used to do,
Its not that i am jelous, just that i care for you.

What happened to our girly days of laughing at the boys.
We would pinch and tease them, and also steal their toys.

But now those boys are in our lives, and you cannot seem to see.
That you have forgotten you best friend. Your best friend that was me.
