When We Fight

by RadianceInReverse   Jun 21, 2006

When we fight
it just doesn't seem right
like a butterfly with a sting
or a dragonfly without wings

I can feel the end of a spike
or the sharp blade of a knife
enter into my skin
my voice stops, I don't know where to begin

When the sound from your mouth
begins to rise
I just close my eyes hoping it will stop
turning away, I cover my ears
wishing the loud rattle would cease

Tears fill my crimson struck eyes
feeling as if I was to die, you realize
that you've yelled at me, you've brought me down
looking at my broken soul, you feel so low

Wrapping your hands around my body
you begin to plead, to beg for forgiveness
saying, " I know I messed up bad, but please, I love you. I'm soo sorry."
water works begin again, still I am without words

Until I say, "You hurt me, you truly did
and thats not easy to forgive
but I love you too, so this wont be the end."

We don't fight that often
but when we do
it feels as if 10,000 razor blades
have gone right through my skin
ripping right through my tattered heart

I hate when we fight
It just doesn't seem right
like a rose without petals
or a broken-heart without scars!
