These are the nights

-this is about facing a temptation that is very strong, that I would rather not mention. It was very difficult but my Jesus brought me through it...as always, I love you Lord!

Driving a long way
started a long day
I'm rushing into the night now
I'm trying to fight it
don't want to face it
the enemy tells me
I should embrace it
Lies of lonliness are setting in now
trying to bring me down
Jesus I need you now
Cause these are the nights
I want to call him

I end up crying
These are the nights
I want to end
I like lying under the stars
and looking up at them
but in the back of my mind
I hear that voice agian
I pray and fight
Jesus fight for me cause, alone I cant win

There it is, there is the chance
screaming right in my face
I know if I take it
I will only feel disgrace
and so ashamed, to be in your presence
I touch it with my hand
just like a hot coal
it burns and I let go
then Jesus you come and pick it up
it burns YOUR skin
touch my mouth
Jesus you saved me once again.
And these are the nights
I used to call him
These are the nights
I wanted to give in
I wont give in...
Jesus you are more to me
than that, I love you!
