Freedom

by Mel   Jun 23, 2006

She dwells in the caves
Of past tragedies and woes
Her heart locked away
Protected from friend and foe

Her lips once held a smile
A frown she now has to hold
Her eyes that once sparkled blue
Now turned dull and cold

She stands alone on the shore
Between the earth and welcoming sea
Liberating her confined emotions
Dancing in an aura of tranquillity

Singing a song of beauty
A feeling of true freedom in her soul
Flecks of golden light cast down on her
At long last there is a hand to hold.

Releasing the spirit within
Behind darkness emerges eternal light
Unlocking the chains on her heart
The sea will set her free tonight
