Dual Deaths

Confusion courses through my body as I hasten to understand

The liquid soaking my shirt and the blood staining my hand

My lungs reach out for air, and my heart cries bloody tears

My mind runs through the memories, I've stored over the years

I thought of how this came about, as I watched death dull his shine

Then I recalled, I stabbed him in his heart, and he stabbed me in mine
