Letting Go (Change)

by Vic   Jun 24, 2006

I've let go of who I was
The child who over-used his trust.
I'm different now than I was before
Able now to see your core.
Glossy lips and brilliant eyes
Can't break the truth seen by my mind.
I'm letting go of my awful past
The times when seering pain did last.
Before I ache, my lips do seal
The secrets with power to betray me.
I'm letting go of the carefree life
Now senses keen like assassin's knife.
I do let go of everyone's faith
Family ties in similar stake.
Nobody close I can rely
Words are words, belief denied.
Much growth done in single heartbeat
My heart in basis of retreat.
The trust is much important to me
Until gravely proven, I trust nobody.
I'm letting go of the past once more
This time, I've tossed the keys to this old door...
