The tale of the note

by Avrii Monrielle   Jun 25, 2006

Long ago, there was a girl
Who moved
Far away

She was the world
And saddened her friend
When she couldn't stay

"I can't come back here ever again...
I'm going far from here
Don't be worried, stay calm - do not fear"

Her friend clutched in their hand
A little note: the last remainder
Of her

Her friend brought it in their notebook
Wrapped it neatly in purple satin
Tied with a golden thread

Hard to believe
The year before
Her friend was pronounced dead

One day when they were walking
The sweet memory adrift
The satin dropped from the notebook

Her friend shook with pain when they discovered
Their note might be in the hands of another
Quickly, they ran on foot

Shoes skid when in the snow
They uncover a purple glow
Brushing off all the cold, their treasure never stol'

Unwrapping the package
Reading the note
Safe beside the fireplace

"I will wait for you
For an entire year
Until that day you should not fear

Today is the day
I'll come for you
This you know is the cold, hard truth

I cannot live in this new world alone
Come with me
To a place we'll call home"

And her friend closed their eyes and shut them tight
Leaving the cold
And embracing the light

Aw wow. That was really good.

It kinda reminded me when I had to move away from one of my best friends.

This was a little sad, But I enjoyed reading it. Keep it up! 5/5

Another beauty. I loved reading the story. I gave me a sad feeling, but also the warm fuzzies. I don't know what it was about that...
