Meant To Be

Ever since we said goodbye,
Without a proper reason why,
I've been unable to concentrate on anything else,
Trying to understand why.
It's been such a blur since this nightmare began,
Going over and over what exactly went wrong.
I just want things to be normal,
How they should be, with you and me.
Surrounded by my friends during the day,
And although I laugh, although I smile,
Deep in my heart I just want to curl up and cry.
Alone at night time,
Thinking of you,
Then realizing you don't want me the way I want you.
Seeing couples all around,
Holding hands, the way they stare at each other,
Remembering us, remembering you.
Maybe wanting you is bad,
Maybe you're really not good for me at all,
But, I'm not ready to give up on us,
I'm not willing to give up on you.
So even though it may seem like I'm having fun,
Showing you I don't need you around,
It's really just an act you see,
Because I still believe we're meant to be.
