Encumbered Memories

by Twisted Heart   Jun 26, 2006

To think about long days gone by
such thoughts now invade my sleep
Into the cobwebbed darkened places
of vacant stares in my mind creep

Sweetly surrender to my thoughts
a distant heart holds my desire
But to give in re-news the cost
of what was singed by it's fire

Do I dare recall those times
our hearts beat for love's embrace
or do I let these memories die
and leave us in the hands of fate

I love this.It captures the love and loss, the confusion of being able to accept things and let go or hold on to precious memories.Very sad and very heartfelt.A touching write.

    Very thought provoking piece....
The crafty way you wrote this catches my eye. It's as if you are just pondering things out loud but yet you convey it so poetically.
Anyway, well done as usual. Take care and keep it up~Holly
