Fishing with Jim

by Ty Jones   Jun 26, 2006

I was out fishing with a buddy named Jim.
He decided it was hot and he would take a swim.
Jim jumped right out in the lake.
But poor Jim landed on a cottonmouth snake.

It bit him on the butt and he let out a shout.
I reached in the water and pulled Jim out.
Two big bite marks, one on each cheek.
Jim said his legs were getting pretty weak.

The bad thing was the snake was still attached
He was caught in the bill fold and he was latched.
I pulled and pulled but the snake wouldn't budge.
I leaned over and gave Jim a nudge.

I said, Jim lets head for the truck.
Jim said, can't ya get him off my butt?
I said, Jim you know I would,
But that snake is in there and he's in there good.

You shoulda seen the people in the emergency room,
As that place got quieter than a tomb.
All eyes on us, no place to bail.
Everyone was lookin at Jim's new tail.

Now Jim's better and his butt feels fine.
But that's one story told everytime.
Theres one chance Jim will never again take.
When you swim in the summer at Thunderbird Lake.

Everyone was lookin at Jim's new tail.
