Voices And Visions

Trapped within my own mind
Locked away without a key,
Not knowing what is real,
Unable to trust all I see.
Trapped in the darkness
Within a silent void,
Slowly ripped apart
From the inside out I am destroyed.

See shadows in the darkness,
Watching me all the time.
Faces in the carpet
Some visions truly are sublime.
Figures in the corner
Forever watching me,
Cannot get rid of them
Will I never be free?

The voices gain in their strength
Spewing forth their lies,
Telling me I'm worthless
And wishing for my demise.

Inside is all so empty
Void of all feeling or light.
Welcome to my world
The world of eternal night.
For here the sun does not shine
Darkness engulfs this land
Cannot relate to others,
They cannot understand,
Held down by lead weights
Inside a deep dark cave
No way to escape
As it becomes my eternal grave.

The voices grow far louder
Cannot ignore the truth,
Believe all they say
Even when there is no proof.
About how everybody hates me
And how I should be dead,
The arguments continue
The battle within my head.
The mist starts to gather
Distorting the world from view
The compulsive thoughts begin now
Impossible to subdue,
Thoughts of death and suicide
Of what I plan to do.
